Şule Güner

Born in Ankara, Şule Güner is a graduate of TED Ankara College and studied Business Administration at Uludağ University. She started working as a journalist at her second year at the faculty.

She worked at the news desk of a local newspaper at her junior years in profession and later in years she worked as a tv reporter and producer at a mainstream national tv channel’s Ankara office for 2 years.

She spent 6,5 years as the only reporter at Italian News Agency’s Ankara Office in Turkey.

Moving to Istanbul, she returned to national press. She worked as the popular culture columnist at Sabah Newspaper for 5 years and Sabah Newspaper’s Foreign Desk Editor for 15 years. During her years at Sabah Newspaper she has also been founding editor of New York Times Turkey Edition for 4 years

She foresaw Artificial Intelligence (AI) coming in late 2010s and became the first journalist and columnist to get specialized on a specific technical area in 2016. She writes for Turkey’s most circulated economy magazine, Para as columnist for 6 years now and has written AI articles for Daily Sabah newspaper in the same media network for 3 years

She conducted the first public AI survey in Turkey in 2018. Presidency’s Digital Transformation Office benefited this survey throughout efforts to build Turkey’s national AI strategy.

Same year she was nominated unofficially to the “Top 50 Women in Robotics” list of Analytics Insight by the world’s biggest PR agency in Denmark

She has supported UK’s De Montfort University’s AI Governance Council from Turkey for 2 years.

She attended the “Youth And AI” entitled panel conducted online and offline in November 2022 by UN Data, Analytics and Emerging Technologies Office in NY, and had the chance to make a speech regarding international call on AI literacy for children.
